160 Bulwer is the KZNIA’s sideshow: a lighter conversation reporting on goings-on from the KZN architecture scene.
Most of the writing takes place at our grand old verandah house at 160 Bulwer Rd, Glenwood, Durban. This happens to be where all the shenanigans of the KZNIA go down!
We also invite members join the conversation by contributing posts of their own. What buildings are going up or coming down? Which starchitect is visiting Durban? What did you think of that particular talk you went to? We also like to hear about other interesting bits and pieces around architecture: if it’s conversation-worthy drop us a line. des@kznia.org.za.

Hi,
I know this is a crazy question, but do you know the approximate width of this raised cottage. I can’t see the sides of the house, but I would love to know the width of the main part of the front of the house (the porch width–column to column). We are getting ready to built a raised cottage center hallway, with a very similar look and I am trying to get a reference of what the house will look like finished.
Thanks so much,
Shawn Miller
