Emma Kennedy has just joined the KZNIA as a temporary administrative assistant and more often than not hers will be the voice you hear when you ring the Institute, at least until she leaves us in early December. Emma will also be giving administrative support to Nina, Bharti, Emeldah and Georgie on a range of tasks.
Hailing from Ireland, Emma studied in Scotland and met her South African husband while they were both living on the south coast of England. After six years in England together, they decided that, rather than Wales, South Africa was next on the cards. They made Durban their home in late 2010 and are having a great time settling in; reconnecting with old friends and making new ones.
Having grown up near the sea, Emma loves having the beach at hand and tries to get the sand between her toes as often as possible. Other current pastimes include learning how to chase monkeys out of the kitchen, getting used to hot milk in tea and enjoying seemingly unlimited sunshine.
